FIFTY SHADES OF BLUE

Homer wrote of the wine-dark sea, but he never met Manka.
She carries the ocean in her stillness, the wind in her smile,
and something ancient in the way she moves— as if she’s not walking through the world, but remembering it.

We met on the shores of Zanzibar, while the waves practiced their rhythm and the sun bowed low,

Manka and I spoke in stories.
She read me poems.

She laughed like she’d done it in every lifetime.
And every time the shutter clicked—
she became someone else.

Not performing.
Revealing.

Each image is a different myth.
Each look, a different world.

Manka is not a model.
She is the sea made visible.

MANKA AND I SPOKE IN STORIES. SHE READ ME POEMS.

EVERY TIME THE SHUTTER CLICKED,

SHE BECAME SOMEONE ELSE.

NOT PERFORMING, REVEALING.
